Tomorrow will start the seventh edition of the Medieval Fair, which is organized every year by the Tolkien Society in Magallanes. The activity will take place in the premises of the Liceo Luis Alberto Barrera, from 15 to 21 hours, with free entrance for the whole community. The event will run until Sunday, keeping the same hours.
This year, the instance that recreates the Middle Ages, it will count with the presence of 35 modules of handicrafts, where it will be possible to see gold and silver work, leather, felt, crochet and jewellery. Similarly, we offer decorative items for the home, catching dreams, mandalas, glass, ironmongery, decorative, sculptures of magical creatures, books, costumes, vintage, natural cosmetics and floral arrangements. Because some positions will offer preparations gastronomic, it will be possible to find jams, pastries and bread recipes nordic.
Attractions and public participation
At every opportunity the Medieval Fair look that the viewer is part of the fun, for the same reason we organize different competitions such as the “Tournament of Swords”, in which they can participate people older than 14 years, using swords covered sponge. The winner will be immortalized in the mural of the winners.
On the other hand, also held the traditional Contest “the best suit”. This will be in two categories, child and adult, in both will be the audience in charge of selecting the best medieval costumes of the contestants. Exhibitors craft will also have its own competitive space, because they will recognize the “Best booth set”, the winner of which will be elected by the vote of the public.
During all the duration of the event, from 14,30 to 16,30 hours, there will be a dance workshop medieval that will be implemented by two students of Bachelor’s degree in Arts with mention in Dance from the University of Chile, focused to people over the age of 15 years.
